Yesterday I wrote about an astrophysicist who wrote to me, expressing concern about my reference to Dr. Humprey's book "Starlight & Time". She also expressed concern about my use of the Second Law of Thermodynamics to argue against evolution, citing a paper that supposedly refutes the argument: asa3.org/ASA/education/origins/thermo.htm. The paper claims that the Law is not violated by either mutation or natural selection. I wrote back to her, citing a paper by microbiologist Dr. Michael Brown: mhrc.net/pseudogene.htm. In it, Dr. Brown gives consideration to the sun adding energy to a cell and thus negating the entropy argument. However, he concludes: "There is no known mechanism that utilizes energy from the sun to allow life-forms to advance to higher levels of existence. Rather, the opposite is happeneing. Eventually all life on our planet will die. I do not mean to indicate only individuals, all populations of life will die on the earth. The whole Biosphere is dying! Every year, hundreds of species are disappearing off the face of the earth and there are no new species to take their place. If time were to last long enough, all life would cease to exist on the earth. Entropy has been increasing since man's fall into sin, and the only way to reverse the process is to be cured by the Creator Himself!"

I received an email from an astrophysicist who wrote that she glanced at chapter one on my website and saw that I support Dr. Humphreys' white hole model. She cited a technical paper:
www.trueorigin.org/rh_connpage1.pdf by Sam Conner, another Christian astrophysicist who points out "serious flaws" in the model. I replied to her, saying that I cited Dr. Humphrey's work simply because of his rejection of the Copernican Principle (which leads to a bounded universe). I pointed out that on page 188 of Dr. Conner's paper he too agrees that there is an event horizon in a bounded universe whereas none exists in an unbounded one. In general, I chose not to point out the problems of other researchers such as Dr. Humphreys because I wanted to stay positive throughout my book.
